It has been my honor and privilege to work with Oakland County Commissioner Eric Coleman as a senior analyst for more than 13 years. During this time, his contributions to Oakland County have been tremendous. Although his leaving will be a true loss to the board, his leadership and experience are desperately needed in Lansing.
I know him to be straightforward, honest and fair. He is a determined advocate for employees and the people that he serves. As president of the Southfield school board, he led efforts to diversify the school district administration and police department. As Oakland County Commissioner, he successfully implemented mandatory cultural diversity training for Oakland County department heads and managers. He also enacted requirements that restaurants undergo training for safe food handling.
His successes are truly remarkable when one considers that his many initiatives were accomplished during a time when the Democrats were far outnumbered by Republicans on the Board of Commissioners. Vote for Eric Coleman for state representative.
